Our Services Section

Richmond Nurses provides the highest level of care and ensure that government advice is followed to protect our clients and staff.
We are subscribed to the following 5 steps of working together:
  • Our policies have been updated to include a COVID-19 Office Risk Assessment which is compliant with government and Health and Safety Executive guidance.
  • We have cleaning, handwashing and hygiene procedures in line with guidance.
  • We have taken reasonable steps to help people work from home.
  • We have taken reasonable steps to maintain a two meter distance within the work place.
  • Where people cannot be two meters apart, we will do everything to practically manage transmission of risk.
At Richmond Nursing Ltd, we understand that it is important for people to maintain as much independence as possible and our clients may require a little help for a short period of time for specific tasks, sometimes a more detailed care may be appropriate for patients who have long terms health care needs. Care for the elderly can be due to ill health, changes in family circumstances, bereavement or a natural ageing process. Tailored packages of care can include Domestic tasks, Personal Care Respite, Social Care and Personal Assistant. Tasks within a care plan can include administering or prompting medications, bathing/washing, toileting, meal preparation and supporting with feeding, cleaning, shopping, collecting paying bills, doing laundry etc. Elderly care can be within a client’s own home or within a Nursing or Care establishment.
If a client has an illness that cannot be cured, palliative care ensures that they are as comfortable as possible. Our care practitioners manage the symptoms of pain, they will also provide psychological, social and, where appropriate, spiritual support for the client and family. This holistic approach deals with the client as a whole person, not just the illness or symptoms. Palliative care can be provided when the client first learns that they have a life-limiting (terminal) illness, palliative care can also be provided alongside other therapies. End of life care is a form of palliative care that the client receives when they are close to the End stages of their life. Richmond Nurses will work alongside many mainstream healthcare professionals such as care that the patient receives from their GP or community nurses. If a client requires additional specialist palliative care, this can be provided by consultants trained in palliative medicine, specialist palliative care nurses, or specialist occupational therapists or physiotherapists.
Like all organs, the brain needs the oxygen and nutrients provided by blood to function properly. If the supply of blood is restricted or stopped, brain cells begin to die. This can lead to brain injury, disability and possibly death.

There are 3 main causes of strokes:
  • Ischaemic – where the blood supply is stopped because of a blood clot, accounting for 85% of all cases
  • Haemorrhagic – If a weakened blood vessel that supplies the brain burst
  • Transient ischaemic attack (TIA), where the blood supply to the brain is temporarily interrupted known as a mini-stroke and can last a few minutes or persist up to 24 hours. TIA’s should be treated urgently, as they're often a that the patient is at risk of having a full stroke in the near future.
The treatment that is provided by Richmond Nurses depends on the type of stroke that the client/patient has experienced, which part of the brain was affected and what caused it.
Richmond Nurses are able to provide care practitioners for all conditions within the dementia group such as Alzheimer’s, Lewy Body Dementia, Vascular Dementia and Combined. The care provided covers these conditions at all stages. The customised care plans will ensure that daily routines are established and the client is involved in planning, they will be provided with safe choices, our care professionals will provide simple instructions and always anticipate that things may take longer and as such schedule more time with their clients.
Living with a condition such as cancer can be the most challenging issue in a person’s life as such may require day-to-day assistance either in a client’s own home or within a care establishment. Richmond Nurses are able to provide Personalised Care and Support Planning (based on holistic needs assessments), this ensures that people’s physical, practical, emotional and social needs are identified and addressed at the earliest opportunity.
General Practitioner consultations can be provided remotely, the beauty of this is that the patient can be at work, at home, or in a care environment, subject to internet access and an enabled camera on a computer device. The video consultation does not allow the clinician to undertake a physical examination, moreover relies on the patient to accurately describe their symptoms. If a prescription or blood tests are required, the clinician may suggest or request that a face to face consultation is more appropriate.
Our qualified therapists can provide specialist neurological physiotherapy for a wide cross section of conditions such as brain injuries, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Huntington’s Disease, Motor Neuron Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Spinal Cord injuries.
